There is absolutely no technical reason for a mailing-list management system to require more than 10 seconds to process a "remove" request. Anybody who says otherwise is quite not qualified to operate (either directly or by delegation) any kind of internet server. But this is a rhetorical question, because no one in his right mind would trust a "remove" link, as online marketers have consistently abused that process to build-up yet other mailing lists.
