Dear FTC, Please, please, PLEASE help stop SPAM. I thought this new law was already in place, but in just the past few weeks I've begun receiving a torrent of unsolicited SPAM e-mails. We have to put a stop to this practice. It's actually worse than telemarketers ever were. I would say a "National Do Not Email Registry" is the way to go. The problem with "opt-out" programs where email is concerned is that the very act of opting out confirms to the sender that one's email address is valid. That's self-defeating,and puts the onus on the recipient to respond in order to stop the intrusion. The law MUSt simply force the spammers to stop invading consumers' privacy. A National Registry is the way to go. Please, start one NOW! Thanks for taking the time to consider this issue, Jim Mallon *REDACTED PERSONAL INFORMATION*
