Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008 To the Commissioners, Thank you for your efforts to help cut down on Spam. However, I must point out that your efforts are misguided with the idea of suppression lists. This kind of reasoning will put the small internet retailer out of business. Most of our business comes from email and from our customer mailing list. I don't think that this is the audience that you want to attack. This bill will seriously affect us, the smaller retailers, who make our living off the internet. I hate to think what will happen when the Spammers themselves get hold of these lists. It will happen. Most of these Spammers are from Nigeria and China, they will not give a hoot about your CAN-SPAM act. This will aggravate the problem, not fix it. I urge you to seriously reconsider this part of the act. It will be very damaging to the online retail community and to their (our) customers.
