Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008

To the Commissioners,

While I certainly appreciate the steps you are taking to eliminate spam, I would like you to know that this will be greatly affecting legitimate businesses as well.

I left a secure and stable corporate job last year where I felt extremely depressed and lethargic, to pursue my real dream of directly helping people's lives in the immediate. Now I'm constantly energized and happy, and have been having a great impact on a few individuals in society, which will undoubtedly ripple out. It's a job that is better than I could have possibly imagined, but one that I couldn't do without telling people about what I'm doing on my website.

I also just started a new piece that I've been told will be a cornerstone to growing my business. It's a double-opt in (so people really need to want to be on it!) ezine. Unlike spammers, when people unsubscribe it won't be used for malicious purposes. They will actually be.... get this..... unsubscribed.

Without my work on the internet, it is impossible for me to continue the great work that I'm doing. Because I quit my other job, I have now closed the door to ever getting back into the corporate world. (Not that I would want to.) This ruling will ruin my life. Please change it so that it only affects illegitimate internet businesses. Thank you!

Respectfully,

Jill Binder
Toronto, Canada
