Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008 To the Commissioners, I beg you, please reconsider the proposal for home-based businesspeople, such as myself, to maintain "suppression lists." Frankly, it would destroy the business I'm trying to build, because meeting its requirements would be logistically impossible. Those in my business engage in "permission marketing," contacting only those people who've expressed an interest. Further, such people can opt out of any further e-mail messages with a single click. To my knowledge, all legitimate Internet marketers operate this way. If they're shut down because of untenable regulations, those selling phony products and get rich quick schemes will have free reign. They never cared about being honest in the first place. Again, I'm not opposed to efforts to go after the criminals, but please don't destroy honorable people by mandating suppression lists. Thank you for your time and attention.
