Spam is rude and unnecessary. Care must be taken so that legitimate marketers that use double opt-in lists are not penalized with the spammers. Requiring a legitimate marketer to be aware of any opt-out request submitted by a person on their list for any product they may offer to their list is unreasonable. All legitimate marketers offer true opt-out capability for subsequent messages. This should be the criteria.
