CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008 To the Commissioners, I am pleased that you are attempting to prevent SPAM. However there are areas about the proposals that are of concern to me as a service provider with my own web-site. The requirements of the use of suppression lists may cause damage to many of the legitimate publications available on the net. I am specifically concerned about harm to publishers who require permission from the consumer prior to adding them to any list. They're not who CAN-SPAM was designed to put out of business, but this requirement will very likely have that effect. I feel that the requirements take a few steps too far thus causing potential problems and urge you in the strongest possible terms to reconsider its implementation in light of these problems, Regards Deirdre MacDonald Managing Director Knowledge Management Solutions, Co.
