PLEASE make the Can-Spam Act an act that stops the spammers and doesn't harm the real marketers who have spent their time and money to create a proper, ethical opt-in list of people who WANT to hear from them! I send emails every 2 weeks to people who have asked to receive the information. The Act as I read it at the moment will make it impossible for me to continue to send my newsletter AND comply with the Act. As well as providing quality content to my opt-in list I also promote products that I endorse ----- The newsletter is my business afterall! The products I promote are also very relevant for my target audience and save them time and money because I have made the effort to test them out for them. The Can-Spam Act will make it impossible for me to offer this service because it will not be possible (or economical) to check every person on my list to see if they have ever opted out from any email list that has ever promoted one of the products that I will recommend to them. Please please please change the Act so that it is still possible for legitimate marketers such as myself can continue offering a valued service to PEOPLE THAT HAVE ASKED FOR IT. I receive over 200 emails per day that ARE spam and I have NOT requested. It is those emails that the Act should be stopping. Every email I send out to my opt-in list has an easy one-click unsubscribe option at the bottom. If ever one of my subscribers decide they don't want to hear from me any more then one click and they don't hear from me again EVER. That is responsible marketing and the Can-Spam Act should be encouraging that type of email and not destroying it!!!!
