Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008 To the Commissioners, Thank you for attempting to regulate spam. I am a business owner and am deluged with spam. However, I am concerned about one aspect of the proposed act - the sharing of opt-out lists. I do send out commercial e-mail to my customer list. Sometimes customers opt out of this type of e-mail and I am diligent to avoid sending e-mail to these people. I am also committed to privacy for my customers, and cannot in good consience share this opt-out list with others. This would be breaching the trust that I have with my customers. In addition, this opt out list will certainly fall into the hands of spammers, thus harming the very people who have opted out. Please do not implement any regulation that requires honest business owners to share personal information (including e-mail addresses) with others. With best regards, Randy Davis Maximum Velocity, Inc.
