Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008 To the Commissioners, I appreciate the efforts you have taken to help stop the annoying problem of unsolicited email. I am however, concerned about the proposed requirement for merchants to maintain suppression lists. I believe this new ruling may cause a lot of harm to consumers and businesses alike. I feel I must urge you to consider this matter most carefully. The new requirement of the use of suppression lists will cause damage to the publishers of legitimate publications available via the net. This new requirement could either put a lot of internet traders out of business or significantely reduce their income. I ask you to consider the effect that this new law may have on interent traders.
