In ADDITION TO my support of the written presentation made by the International Council of Online Professionals I have my own comments: A National Do Not Email Registry would be a fiasco. The implementation of a system for rewarding those who supply information about violators would be great... I am so sick of porn ads, filthy language in subject lines, etc that I could cry sometimes. There seems to be no way to forward these emails (and really no way to catch the offenders... sadly). Also ways to stop Phishing, Scams, and other ways people hurt others. It's just WRONG! I would like to see some major "players" get their just desserts, with huge fines, jail time, and dishonor.... as they so 'richly' deserve for hurting others in their selfish attempts to get rich. Subject Line Labeling should be accurate, clear, concise, and not using deplorable language. If it's commercial, then so state. If it's pornographic, then precede it with XXX or something to identify it, WITHOUT graphic verbiage! Thank you all for the great effort you are making toward ridding the world of this kind of scum, but please, be aware that some of us are legitimate marketers who DO respect our subscribers, who DO comply with the laws of the land, and who DO Need your support, too. Respectfully yours, Donna L Maher RN Infopreneur/Ezine Publisher/Webmaster
