I am one of many people who have been spammed on many ocassions. This is an never ending battle from the spammers. I understand that they are attempting to make money from their "business". I also understand that many times they are sending me crap that I cannot discuss with children on the street. I could be arrested for some of the same discussions, however, they can send this across the internet without any fear. I believe that all spammers must be put into a group in which people can opt to go to certain web sites to view the spam. I do not believe that all spam must be dropped from the internet. I do believe that unwanted spam is a great disservice to many people. I have more junk on some days than the actual email correspondence that I wanted. I also believe that new extensions ( such as .sex, .spm (spam) and .adv (advertisement) must be added for more simple separation into junk piles. I have times that I just delete the emails because I do not want to waste my time looking at unknwn emails. Yes, many spammers may move off-shore to avoid these guidelines. Filters from certain countries may have to be added to prevent the problem of spammers from these countries. The countries of origin may have to get involved to prevent this problem. I am somewhat of the belief that some people do want some spam. This is where a web site or some location would be appropriate for people to go and review spam. I do not want to waste my time and many others everyday to separate all the "junk" from the actual emails that I wanted. As far as a friend forwarding me some advertisment, I do not see a problem. I do not want a friend of my friend now allowed to forward me the spam. This could be a never ending offer to spam through association. I do not want this much latitude to allow spamming. The spammers already attempt to spam somebody in many different means. They go to many lengths to get email addresses just to send to anybody. They lie about offering to stop sending email correspondence by signing the opt-out. The only way to stop these people is by going after the source of money which is the company using their services. The company that hires them should be reponsible for the actions of their contractors. The penalties need to be applied to both companies in this situation. Again, the penalties need to be applied to both companies in this situation. Thank you for the opportunity to address this issue.
