3. If a person sends an E-mail to someone they do not know for the purpose of soliciting business, then that is the primary purpose of the E-mail. I don't mind getting a little sales pitch with my updates or other info from a vendor I already have an established relationship with. My problem is with the millions of messages clogging the internet using the "shotgun" approach of sending mass messages to everyone on a list. I would love a Do Not E-mail registry similar to the do not call registry. I am on the Do Not Call Registry and have been since the beginning. SBC recently began calling me again after a lengthy hiatus. I simply picked the phone up and requested them not to call me again... and voila!!! They stopped. THANK YOU for the silence in my house at the dinner hour!!! I am also looking forward to the day when the only E-mail in my mailbox is something I have requested or soemthing that my friends have sent me. Keep up the good work... I know we can get on top of all the spam... but we have to start somewhere!!!
