I receive about 300 emails a day, of which 260 are spam. These messages are effectively filtered into a spam folder by my email providers, Yahoo.com and Excite.com. Among the 40 messages arriving in my mail folders, about 10% are spam, which Iidentify and send to the email providers for inclusion into the spam list. I check the spam folder about once a week and have found legitimate senders there as well. Those emails I identify to the email providers as wanted mail. You see, the email providers are doing a great job filtering out spam messages. Why do we need this bill? How could you possibly enforce the provisions without curtailing my right to privacy? Let commercial providers be the first protection against spam. It's advertisement. I can hit the delete button easier than you can put this bill into place. Cordially, Antje Dirksen-Post
