I think all email advertisers should be required to use a specific email address that identifies the sender as an advertiser, possibly using the word "advertisement" as the beginning of any email address, followed by the company's name. This would warn the person receiving the email of it's content before opening it. Microsoft seems to be the worst offender on my home computer. Whenever I search a subject on the internet, almost immediately I get a popup ad from Microsoft with advertisements regarding the same or similar subject I am searching for. I had to install a popup blocker to stop this, but sometimes miss emails from companies that I have given permission to email me.
