Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008To the Commissioners,Your efforts to take care of the Spam problem are great. I just hope that you will be able to curb the Spam and not increase what we as legitimate marketing folks have to do to keep it down. I?m talking about the requirement to maintain suppression lists. Please watch the problems and costs that are associated with the suppression lists. They can create a lot of damage to consumers and businesses, so please consider this very carefully. It sounds like those who require permission form the consumer prior to adding them to a list will be put out of business with the regulations as they stand.. It also looks like these lists could very easily get into the hands of unscrupulous spammers and it won?t make any difference to them. It seems like the legitimate folks are the ones who always take it on the chin when a new law comes out. Please make sure this doesn?t happen. Respectfully,Jerry WalshDirect LinkBryan, Ohio 43506
