Re: CAN-SPAM Act Rulemaking, Project No. R411008To the Commissioners,Unsolicited bulk email is a nuisance. But the maintenance of suppression lists are an unnecessary burden for legitimate, growing businesses on the net.Publishers who have gained permission from the consumer prior to adding them to any list will be penalized. They're not who CAN-SPAM was designed for. But they will likely be put out of business anyhow.Consumers won't know how the "unsubscribe from" is really being used. And suppression lists could easily fall into the hands of spammers, leading to more spam instead of less. Also, consumers will lose access to a world of information that's currently available and expanding on the net. It should be their choice alone whether to receive it or not. Not legislation. Please reconsider the implementation of this law that punishes legitimate businesses and keeps them from flourishing.Respectfully,Marilyn HibbsIowa USA
