Unsolicited spam is an intrusion and an assault on my time and personal privacy. An Opt-in requirement would be better than an Opt-out being included in the spam emails. Opt-outs tend to generate more emails, by verifying a person's email address as valid. Opt-out's are often dead links/don't work, or are not included. A person is also subjected to being forced to spend their time getting to the opt-out, and still must waiste their time dealing with the original email received. Spam forces an individual to spend their time dealing with it & is in my opinion, not much different than rape via email.
