ACN, being a network marketing company, has changed my whole family's life. I have been full time since January 2000. I was able to help my father get out of his job, retire my grandfather, create income residually for my mother, grandmother, uncle, sister, step father and wife. Not only have I been able to help many of my family members, this opportunity has allowed me to help many people do the same. I have made countless friends in this business. Network marketing allows people that never had a chance to be able to have an incredible quality of life. All we bring to the table is work ethic, coachablility and patience to teach others what we learn so that others can do the same. ALL mine and my pregnant wife’s income comes from ACN, a direct selling company. It has also made me a better person. I was never confident as a public speaker, I was not sure of my self, I thought I would never have the kind of life style I only dreamed about, but with ACN, I had to step up and I did. I know speak in front of 10s of thousands of people every year and have the opportunity to help motivate them to face their fears and make it happen for themselves. I have learned more working in direct selling on how to be productive and successful than I did in all my schooling, 1st - 12th, AA, BA from Cal State Northridge. In regards to the 7 day waiting Period, all it will do is make people think that there must be something wrong with the company and direct selling. It will hold up all production, driving momentum into the ground. It will make it very difficult to get a new person off to a fast start. Our goal is to put checks into our reps pockets ASAP. This 7 day waiting period will cancel out our ability to put checks into the pockets of our reps quickly. It makes no sense to slow down and delay getting our people started. Our company ACN has a 10 business day cancellation policy which does a better job of protecting the new person. If they have a change of mine then they lose NOTHING!!! It also proves that ACN and the leaders of this company only want new distributors that WANT to do ACN. No one is MADE to do it and if they want out, we give them plenty of time to try ACN out to see if they want to continue with it. Most stay past their 10 business day's and some don't. Either way, they all have an opportunity to do some direct selling to see if it is for them. About the potential rule that make's distributors offer references, I know I would have a bunch of great references. However it is an unreasonable rule and impractical to expect every rep to find 10 geographically nearest distributors as references. People don't want to be bothered with people they don't know calling them as references all the time. It is infringing on their privacy. That is not right. I would not want people giving out my information to people every day and I think you would feel the same if it was your information being given out? I do appreciate everything the FTC does to protect all of us. You need to understand though that if this law passes then it will only damage the legitimate companies, like ACN. It unfairly targets direct selling. The bad people out their won’t follow the rules anyway, so it’s just going to hurt the good people. ALL businesses should be run with integrity, character and concern for the best interest of others. I know ACN does. I have heard of many other direct selling companies that do the same. In fact, many of the traditional companies out there are concerned only about the bottom line. They do not care about the “little” people. I am one of the “little” people that has been blessed with an opportunity in the direct selling industry and it has changed my families and many other families lives! FTC, please come up with a law that we all can live with. Remember, there are countless people like me doing direct selling for a living. Thank you for reading this comment. Mike Bisutti
