As active IBOs of 3 years, we started out just wanting to make some extra money but quickly decided this was something we wanted to do the rest of our lives. It has changed us both personally and professionally and has inspired us to help so many others strive for financial freedom or simply to strive for whatever goals they set. Prior to registering our business, we reviewed all of the information given to us, but the enthusiasm and excitement we felt from the team really helped us make our decision, which was right away that first night. If you institute a 7-day waiting period in order to register, you make an unfair assumption that this is a scam and you also take away the excitement and ability to begin building a business right away with your team. The 7-day waiting period actually harms a person's ability to build a business and denies the ability to drive volume through their own business and earn an income. It is like saying to a shop owner, you can buy a business, but you can't open it's doors for 7 days. When we register IBOs, we always make sure they receive enough information to make an educated decision on their financial future, we find out what type of business they would like to grow (what type of invest they want to do), and thoroughly go through how money is made. If we tell them how they can make money and then deny them the ability to register, it makes it appear that our business is unethical--which it is not. It seems to me you are punishing many ethical businesses because there are a few unethical businesses in the world. That's unfair. Regarding requiring references, our business support team is our references and if you are building this business correctly, they are an active part in helping you succeed. To me, having actual contact with people you are working with means more than a list of names and numbers of faceless people. Body language speaks volumes and a person can pick up if you are genuinely interested in helping them where a list is just that, a list, which can be a loaded list and mean nothing at all. Besides, I don't want my name, address, and phone number plastered all over the place. I would much rather meet a person(s) face to face. Regarding a litigation list, that is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard of. We live in a society willing to sue for anything and while some may be justified, some are not. The disclosure document does not define "seller" so it is vague at best. To provide a who's who of litigation claims (good or bad) does nothing to help a person decide whether or not they want to own their own business. Quixtar and our team already openly disclose what the average income an IBO earns and it is listed in our Business Plan brochure. We also address questions about this as they come up. Having a separate financial disclosure is duplication of effort and unnessessary. Regarding requiring financial substantiation--how much do you make a month, year? That's personal information in my book. A person's income directly reflects their efforts and does nothing to help a person make a decision about this business. I consider all of these proposed requirements as an invasion of privacy that stifles free enterprise at its very core. Placing more regulations on free enterprise only serves to limit the fundamental principles this country was founded on--life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. I also feel it is an insult to people's intelligence if you place so many requirements on small business, the core of which this country was founded on. Please do not stifle the American dream that is alive and well in all small business owners who are working to make their business successful. The goal you are trying to accomplish through these requirements actually has the opposite affect. Please reconsider all of the requirements you indicate--they are unfair and serve no real purpose other than to limit the growth of our nation. Thank you for your time
