I fully support the protection of people who are looking to join Direct Selling oppurtunities. I do however find a few proposed ideas a bit over the top and out of line. One such proposal is the the disclosure of every law suit brought againist the company even if they were not foud at fault. If this rule ran for other companies say Walmart for example I would never get to shop, do to all the time it would take me to read the suits againist them. Any company that is having success has people trying to get their money out of them in fake lawsuits, or claims. Also the idea that 10 other IBO's should be listed. In our business we invite people to come and meet the team before they join. I personally feel strongly the quality of the people is what often gets people to decide to join, not the presentation alone. I require they meet the team before they get going. I do not want someone who is shown a presentation to have my address unless I met them personally because the safety of my family could be in question. The idea of waiting seven days before they can start is a bit over the top due to the fact that doing anything like this is based on an informational as well as an emotionial desicion. In seven days they will have the time to find the so called experts that will talk them out of the possiblity for them. The people who know less than they do, but who will also remind them it maybe good but not for them to get their "hopes up they are the kind to do that sort of thing" Our business as a rule and I do personally if you join me and change your mind, I will give you your money back, so does the company it will buy back any products. The truth of the matter is in business you can take the risk to have success or to fail. I do not want people being tricked into things that are false and rip offs. But a fair and honest business also should not be punished because some people give into the fear of being laughed at or have to go out of their comfort zone to succeed. The idea of incomes being shown is no ones business. I do not show my income to anyone except the one I councel with. If I am to disclose it to others it may motivated some and disappoint others. They need to get in and decide what they want to make and then I can lead them to a person who makes that amount or more so they can see that is it so. Also with incomes being shown let us look at the chances and the incomes of people who spend large abouts of money on college degrees that do not promise the rewards they said we would get when we finished. It really comes to what an person is willing to do and who they are welling to learn from. Thank you for your reading of this and the job you do. David Overby
