To Whom it May Concern: With regard to your proposed new ruling I need to share some comments concerning my business. I have been in the direct sales business for 26 years now and this has over the years contributed to our families finances because of the ethics and honesty we have used in running our business. Being in this type of business has strengthened me as a person and my family has benefited from that growth as I have learned more about dealing with people and made personal frowth and development as a business person. I have been supported by honest servant leaders with a willingness to share what they have learned with me. I appreciate the your (FTC's) mission to protect consumer protection priorities. I also have concern for its impac6 on legitimate direct selling companies. I understand there are fraudulent groups out there, but this particular rule unfairly targets legitimate direct selling businesses one of which I am a part. The seven day waiting period casts a negative light on the direct selling plan, creates record keeping and administrative problems and unnecessary delays. There have been several instances that I worked with a person more than a year before they were ready to do the paperwork and waiting seven more days seems impractical and unnecessary to me. I have been in more than one business where the beginning investment has been less than $500. and feel this proposed rule is more appropriate for businesses requiring a greater investment. This forces the majority of direct selling companies to comply with other provisions than just starting with a direct sales kit. Concerning the litigation reporting this seems unfair to me that it does not distinguish between winning and losing lawsuits which makes the numbers easily misunderstood. The earnings claim besides being difficult to collect data, those who are not ligitimate will not provide accurate data while ligitimate companies will and this will skue the data unfairly. Lastly, the impracticality of finding my 10 nearest existing sales people in my neighborhood would take time and create privacy and safety issues. This could also put my family in danger of identity theft and other physical possibilities. As a mother of 5 boys I cannot take that risk. Thank you for all your help in keeping us as comsumers and business people safe and informed. Please consider the previous comments before making your final decision. May you be blessed to make the right choices. Sincerely, Shery McBride XanGo Distributor
