My wife and I are in the beginning stages of our Quixtar business. It has become the heart and soul of the dreams and goals for my entire family, even in our grandchildren. We have begun to develope a business that is designed to help others supplement their income or be self employed, if they so desire, and, with our personal help, have the opportunity to build a future for their families for generations to come. I have an accounting degree from many years ago and all I did was the math to determine the credibility and accountabililty of Quixtar and the people we are associated with. The marketing plan and disclosures that are presented each time we introduce this to people are without question the best, yet no exagerations are made or implied. We stay strickly to the plan as authorized by Quixtar and reviewed by the FTC. The Rules of Conduct and Code of Ethics cannot be matched by any other corporate structure. This is why someone that is getting started can build a substantial business and future and have the credibility and support through the people that have already achieved the levels of income that they may wish to achieve. I, as an independent would like to see a level playing field created for all direct sellers. Develope a simple, clear and standardized income disclosure plan based upon ethical, legal and sound business practices. You should have a reasonable cancellation policy that allows people to review information for themselves in the privacy of their own home. Make decisions based on knowlegde and education. We would be severely hampered if a seven day waiting period were required before registering. Ours typically takes two weeks before any registering is done and then only at the request of the new associate. That way, they have the opportunity to check us out completely. But, when you have someone that wants to get started right away and take advantage of all the possibilities available why should a section of our government prevent them from doing so. Next, we operate a business as independent business owners. I am not interviewing for a job, I am offering someone an opportunity to better themselves and their family. In that respect it would be wrong to be required to give references that have absolutely no vested interest in my business. Thirdly, for us to have to disclose our financial records to anyone outside of our personal financial advisors or the IRS, is a total invasion of the very right to privacy, security and the pursuit of happiness that is guaranteed by our Constitution. We wish to be totally cooperative and abide by the recommendations and requirements as set down by the Commission. You have accepted the Quixtar Sales and Marketing Plan, why would you make changes to a system that is helping people all over the globe and possibly damage the productive possibilities and opportunities available to everyone in the country, no matter their status or present income level. Why not take this system, the established and required Rules of Conduct and Code of Ethics and use them as the standard for all direct selling companies especially those making claims that they cannot support. Thank you for allowing me to give you an input. Rick and Sharon Weaver
