Federal Trade Commission July 17, 2006 I am concerned about the business opportunity rule R511993,so want to respond to that. I believe the way its presented could hinder or totally prevent me from continuing as a Xango Distributor. We (my husband and I) depend on this to help pay our expenses and medical etc. we love the product and have been involved for 3 years. I want to continue to improve my health and quality of life with the product as well as with the income generated from the business. It is a small business but so vital to us as we are over 65 yrs old. The waiting period would greatly hinder as people want to purchase now. when I go to a department store and choose a dress,I dont have to wait 7 days to purchase. Or purchase a car or any other product. The keeping of records will prohibit some of us to do our business and provide for ourselves. Would cause unnecessary delay to good people. Requirement for 10 references? No other store or company has that. Many people would not be comfortable in giving out their names and private info for references. Also many scam artists would come about. besides the ladies would definitely not want to give private info to others, I would not as I would be afraid of sex crimes and ID theft and safety. Who would oversee all that and take responsibility? Etc. We do not make earnings claims. Its up to each distributor to do what they want to do. It is all by commissions anyway. IF product is purchased then some money is there if not then of course there is not income.We have many people who just purchase product only,have no intention of building a business. then some desire to work at it and build to supplement their income. Their choice. Our company has a guarantee policy for refund. I have not had anyone to complain about that as all. It is their choice to build a business or just use product. Please don't take away our freedom wih so many rules and regulations. These rulings will not stop crooks and scammers. They already violate existing laws . But these would harm our little business that so greatly helps our income and way of life. Thank you very much Emma Lyman Independent Xango Distributor
