I recently learned about the proposed Business Opportunity Rule R511993. I am greatly concerned about several of the items in this rule and believe that it will adversely affect my home based business. I am equally concerned about how this will affect the economy of our country. We currently face corporate downsizing and high fuel costs. Network marketing allows anyone the opportunity to work from home and better their economic position and their life. Many of the items in this rule will greatly hinder, if not destroy the current freedom for people wanting to build a home based business. I currently have my own business as a Xango Independent Distributor. I originally signed up just to take the product and purchase at the wholesale price. In fact many people in my group also signed up for the same reason. They just wanted to purchase at the best price. It is only $35 to be a member with Xango, just like purchasing a Sam’s Club membership. It is not reasonable or fair that they would have to wait a week in order to do this. The 7 day waiting period would be devastating to my business and I believe would be considered a restraint of trade. Would you also make people wait a week in order to purchase items from Sam’s? Soon after getting great health benefits from the Xango juice, I began to see this as an incredible business opportunity. This business allows me to work from home, and build the kind of income that I could not make in an ordinary job. I have the freedom to be home with my kids, to work around my family’s schedule, and promote a product that is helping people with their health in dramatic ways. The people that I refer to the product can duplicate what I have done and create their own home based business. The 7 day waiting period could potentially destroy this business opportunity for everyone. Also, the proposed rule requires the disclosure of a minimum of 10 prior purchasers nearest to the prospective purchaser. I am glad to provide references, but in this day of identity theft, I am very uncomfortable giving out the personal information of individuals (without their approval) to strangers. This is a major privacy issue, and could potentially open the door for worse problems. I have seen many scams on the Internet. This rule will do nothing to stop them. They hurt my business! This rule will not stop Crooks – they violate the current rule all the time. But I am a good American citizen and it will hurt me. Thank you and please help me. Sincerely, Angie Bologns Xango Independent Distributor Houston, TX www.xjuicebiz.com
