I would ask that the FTC take a closer look at the Business Opportunity Rule; specifically, the guidelines of imposing a 7-day waiting period for registration, the submission of references and disclosure of financial information. These proposed guidelines will significantly hurt those who are running legitimate home-based businesses. In this country, we pride ourselves on having a free enterprise system. We promote the idea that anyone - regardless of socio-economic background - has an equal opportunity to be successful here. I believe taking away and/or limiting rights of home-based business owners seriously impairs the freedoms of honest men and women who are striving for success for themselves and their families.
