Business Opportunity Rule CFR Citation: 16 CFR Part 437 Some of the proposed rulings are offensive to me. I appreciate the FTC's concern for the consumer. There are fraudulent persons & groups out there, but what we need is better enforcement of the rules already on the books. I feel the proposed rulings far exceed what is necessary. I have been in direct sales for ten years. The products have enhanced my life & my husband's life, as well as many others. I have learned helpful skills & have taught skills to others. We have benefitted from additional income, & met many interesting people from various parts of the world. Seven-day waiting period: I feel that this delay could frighten away prospective customers, and load me with additional record-keeping. Litigation reporting: What is the value of all this reporting, if the outcome is not also reported? Earnings claims: This is difficult to obtain, & how do you know the unscrupulous will give a true report? References: This invades privacy, & can be difficult when my customers can be from many countries of the world. Statistics of cancellations & refunds: Do the big companies do this? The companies I work with have in place adequate cancellation & refund policies, but I don't have to find & disclose the statistics. Thank your for this opportunity to express my views.
