I think it's great that the government is going to try to "weed out the scams" in this industry. By association, it has been hard to overcome the bad experinces that many people have had with them However, we are NOT one of them! I have been in both Amway, and now, Quixtar. I started in 1991. So, for 15 years I have experienced how this business works. First of all, the issue is not if this business works, it is -- and has been for the 15 years of my involvement -- a matter of how much I will work! I.e., the business works; the only real questins is whether I am going to work the business! To succeed I must help others succeed! I read through the proposed changes to the law, and some items would be usefull to help to "weed out" many of the unscrupulous businesses in this industry. But that being said, many of the changes are totally unnecessary for our business! We are the best. We are trained to be honest, and provide all the informaition a skeptical prospect would want. I always provide more info than I trneed to. Frankly, I'm supprised that you would "lump" us in with other companies in this industry. From my experience, we are far and away the most honest, ethical and business in the industry. Please don't put unnecessary and burdensome requirement on us. We already work harder and longer than most. We are rewarded, yes, but only after we've helped others, in an ethical and consciensious manner. Five years ago, I "pulled back from working the business" because my 44-year-old wife became pregnant with our fourth child. Yes, my business "fell back" somewhat, but that is because I "backed off" from working as hard at it, because I needed to spend more time with my prognant wife and our other three children! Some of the money kept coming -- because we had built it up to a certain level -- but my business backed -up a bit, to reflect my reduced effort. It's absolutely fair. You get what you really earn in this business. Our work in this business has helped us support our family. I am proud of the work I do, and the help we provide others. I am introducing by 19 year-old son to this business because he can help to pay his way through college with it. Me, I work the business to help pay my family's mortgage payment and the groceries! Make it harder for the unscrupulous to take advantage of people. But don't make it harder for honest, consciencious business owners in Quixtar to support their families! We are already trained to provide all the information (and more) propspects want and need. Please eliminate the dishonest from our industry, by all means. We cheer you on in these important issues. But to lump Quixtar independent bussiness owners in with the others who are dishonest, is, I must admit, insulting! I'd be willing to expand on these issues if it would help you. We support you in your efforts to clean up the industry, because we know that when you finish, the best, the strongest, the most honest will remain. We will remain. I only hope that you won't make it even harder for us to help others (because THAT is what we do!). Thank you. C.J. Weihs ..
