I believe the proposed Business Opportunity Rule is just another way to supress the rights of Americans to prosper in a non traditional environment. I believe MLM is the only way out of poverty today for most people. Taking this away from us is just proposing another form of slavery. If you want to demand a disclosure than demand that every business opportunity disclose that individual incomes are earned based on the individuals position in the company, the size of their downlines and individual effort and that no income can be guaranteed. It's that simple! There are a lot of people out there who want something for nothing and they are the ones who complain when they don't get what they thought they deserved. As long as they know, through a disclosure, that they will be compensated in direct proportion to their individual effort and there is NO guarantee of success, then if or when an individual doesn't succeed due to lack of effort, they don't blame the company. I have been involve in many MLM companies and I haven't really succeeded in any of them but it is no fault of the company. It is my own fault! I was shy, lacking in confidence and afraid to approach people so my recruiting numbers were low. I still believe highly in the industry and I would be incredibly angry if the government interfered and made it more difficult for honest networkers to suceed in the business. Also...there may be scams out there. There are tons of con artists, psychopaths, sociopaths, and corrupt businesses. But we don't assume because one is corrupt they all are. In a free Country we as individuals need to exercise our own minds in making intelligent decisions about what opportunities we chose to get involved with. It is just as much a crime to allow business to pay a minimum wage of 6-8 dollars an hour. Who can live on that? Why not shut down all businesses who pay their employees so little they can't afford to purchase or even rent a house in the area they work? The crime is far greater here. This is just legal slavery. I feel you need to put your attention in more important matters and as in all cases, let the buyer beware. Let people make their own mistakes and decisions. We don't empower people by taking away that right. Kaleah LaRoche
