I have been an Independent Business Owner powered by Quixtar since February of 2006. In these five months I have incurred only benefits from Quixtar and its affiliates. I believe that the proposed requirement of providing the contact information of ten other people in the business is a misguided idea. First, it invades the privacy of those ten people who are in the business. Second, it places an unnecessary time constraint on those ten people who must take time out of their day to talk to a stranger about their business. I would not want to have strangers calling me and quizzing me about my business. The system that we have in place already allows for people who have questions to have the opportunity to go to a meeting and meet many more than ten other Independent Business Owners. I also believe that the proposed rule that a prospect must be provided with a list of past litigation is an idea with unintended consequences that would hamper rather than enhance the marketplace. In today’s world litigation is a part of every large business. To make a disclosure of all previous litigation a requirement to do business would put an unnecessary burden on traditional businesses just as much as or more than it would on the our business opportunity. I believe that the number of lawsuits filed against large corporations is not necessarily an accurate indication of that corporation's lack of integrity but rather an indication of the current social climate in which people who want something for nothing feel cheated when they cannot have it and attempt to obtain it by crying, “Fraud.” If similar regulations were placed on traditional businesses our economy would be hampered rather than enhanced. I believe that such regulations would have a negative effect on our economy and on many individuals in our business with no real gain for the prospective business owner. I feel that the marketplace for opportunities like ours would function better for prospects and business owners alike without these regulations. Thank you for your time. Chris Hawks
