To Whom It May Concern, We have been Amway dist. since 1972 and Quixtar IBOs since Sept 99. I am in the ministry and have continued in this field during our years in the business. We reached the Direct Distributor level in 1973 and later Diamond in 88. We do not have a huge organization but it has provided us with an important suplemental income stream for many years. We have benefited personally and financially through our business involvement. We have always let people know that it takes work to succeed and no one gets "rich quick". The suggestion of a seven day waiting period for registration would have several negative effects on our business. The biggest impact would be to retard momentum and rapid growth with new and excited IBOs. We have always guarded the privacy of our lines of sponsorship. To be required to provide local "references" of IBOs we do not even know and work with would violate the privacy of their own business. I would not want my name and number on a list that anyone could call and inquire about our business. It would take a lot of time and how could I give information of this nature to folks I don'te ven know. IT could also have the effect of people trying to "steal" IBOs from prospective sponsors. IBOs meet at meetings now and have many opportunities to discuss their business experience. The idea of a "litigation list" strikes me as grossly unfair. What if my local hospital, grocery store or Walmart had to disclose all their litigation to me before I could trade with them?! Compared to the thousands of small and large successful Quixtar businesses there is a small percentage of litigation and people putting negative on the web. The positive far outweighs the negative. To require only the negative to be displayed is just not right. I certainly would not want my doctor, accountant or banker to have to disclose their income to me nor would I want to have this personal information to be required of me. I hope some real balance can be reached as the issues in the FTC proposals seem "far to the left" of balance and good judgement. Respectfully, Tedd Fish
