I am a Quixtar Business Owner and have been evolved in the business since 1989. I have been able to bring in a steady income with the business and feel it is the greatest income opportunity on the planet. It has allowed me to become a better person. I am thankful the business came into my life. The way our business is presented is, results are dependent on individual effort. Large income is there for those that choose to pursue it. Do nothing, get nothing. I am concerned about some of the FTC rulings. Here are my comments and suggestions. Seven day wait – I AM AGAINST THE 7 DAY WAIT. A seven day wait would only delay people that want to get business going now. What all companies should be required to do is allow full refund on startup cost should someone change their mind for a reasonable time, say 3 to 6 months. Make a reasonable cancellation policy for ALL companies, therefore a person is allowed to start now and not risk anything knowing that they can get a full refund. People getting ripped off by taking your money without refund only gives the legitimate companies a bad image. Give prospects a list of references – I AM AGAINST THE GIVE 10 REFERENCE RULES. For legitimate businesses like Quixtar, this could only cause conflict with other business owners and could give prospects the opportunity to join with someone that didn’t even show them the opportunity. List all legal allegations - I AM AGAINST REQUIREMENT TO LIST ALL LEGAL ALLEGATIONS. In our sue happy society there are many illegitimate lawsuits. Anybody can sue anybody for anything even if it is not warranted. The larger the company, the more law suits. This causes a business images to be skewed. In addition, why should my business image become tarnished because of another business owner that did something unethical? Prosecute and sentence the crooks! Financial disclosures and financial claims. – I AM AGAINST HAVING TO PROVIDE FINANCIAL DISCLOSURES. Effort equals income and everyone works the business at there own rate. Actually people doing nothing or very little unrealistically drag down the “Average income per IBO” number giving a false income expectation to the low side. More realistic calculations should be based on VERY ACTIVE IBOs and not someone that sells tube one toothpaste every month. This also is an invasion of privacy. Government regulation is important in our society but it must also be fair, practical, realistic, and effective without negatively impacting the business owners business operation or customers ability to participate.. That’s what keeps this a FREE ENTERPRISE nation. I recommend FTC take action on Internet sites that spread lies about successful companies. WE NEED A DISCLOSURE that makes customers aware of false information from a misleading “Google” search on the Internet. If these regulations pass as proposed, it will unnecessarily slow our business down at a time when people need home based businesses the most. Than you for allowing me to express my concerns.
