Federal Trade Commission To Whom it May Concern: Your efforts to protect consumers is very much appreciated. I am, although, concerned about the negative impact this will have on legitimate companies whose business practices are honest and hardworking. I have recently discovered the wonderful benefits of network marketing (approximately one year). After being a stay-at-home mom for more than 20 years, I wanted to create a stream of income that would help with college tuitions for three and still allow me to be home for the remaining high schooler. Network Marketing offers that. With an authentically fabulous product, and a company with the highest of standards, I am proud to have this opportunity. It will be difficult for legitimate marketers to meet the proposed requirements for earnings disclosures. Our company is so operated that it attracts honest and legitimate people. Fraudulent companies would choose not to submit accurate data. History dictates that fraudulent operators do not last. The waiting period of seven days will detract from a new person's interest; momentum from the beginning is very important. Such a wait will create questions as to our integrity. Providing ten nearest existing sales people would be very difficult in that many people work with others in various locations. This would perhaps heighten the possibility of ID theft. My love of this business stems from the fact that it offers those of us from all circumstances in life the opportunity to be associated with a legitimate company, one of which we can be very proud - one which strives to be law-abiding and has its members' best interests in mind. My company has made it possible for me to work part-time and help with expenses while slowly working on my Master's Degree, which I put on hold over 20 years ago, as well as giving me a greater sense of confidence and well-being while offering me the opportunity to interact with other hardworking and honest people. Your efforts to protect consumers are appreciated; I hope you will consider the negative effects that will be felt on honest businesses. Thank you for your time. Kim Johnston
