re: Business Opportunity Rule, R511993 First I would like to take a moment to thank you for your efforts to protect the consumer from fradulent activities by not only unreputable companies but individuals as well. However this country was founded on the principles of freedom including business and entrepreneurship. As an individual in the direct selling/mlm business I would find it an undaunting task to even consider my own business if I were required to meet the expectations of a larger franchise (ie a waiting period, having to provide references of previous customers, the paper work and and administrative tasks involved). Requiring the parent company to release the information of it's customers and/or business owners would be a violation of privacy as well as contribute to an even longer waiting period as it may take several weeks to search the database for customers willing to have that info revealed and in turn get that info to the potential customer. As a consumer having a 7 day wait seems like a real contraindication of most business models in the US. If this rule is applied to the direct seller then it should apply to all businesses that sell (ie car dealers, grocers, home supply stores etc). It would be ridiculous at best to go to the grocery store, make your selections, go to the checkout only to have the clerk tell you to return in 7 days to pick up the order. To me this is what the new rule/proposal is saying and it makes no sense to hamper and/or dampen the desires of the individual who is quietly trying to make an improvement in their life. Thank you for your time
