|Subject:||Business Opportunity Rule|
|Title:||Notice of Proposed Rulemaking|
|CFR Citation:||16 CFR Part 437|
Comments:I am just getting started in a direct selling business and feel that there is a big earning potential ahead. This business will greatly improve my families finances and allow my children to have a better education and life. As a result of this business I have more confidence in myself and have a greater sense of accomplishment which is something my children can aspire to. While I appreciate that the FTC is aware of fraudulent groups out there I do not feel that the legitimate businesses should be punished for someone else's faults. I feel this rule would unfairly target the many legitimate direct selling businesses. A waiting period in this business would only cast a negative view on the direct selling plan. This makes for unnecessary delays in potential income. A waiting period would only cause an income loss for the legimate business person. I feel this rule would put a higher investment cost on potential investor which could in turn lead to a complete loss of that income. This is unfair to the legimate business that we operate. This rule would also be negative in way of litigation regardless of the outcome for that business. This propsal would make it very difficult to collect the data that would be required and while the legimate business would provide accurate data the fraudulent business would only give false information. I believe that being made to provide investor's perosnal information would be a breach of ethics as well as thier privacy. This could cause danger to my investor's and be a way for someone to steal their ID. I could not in good faith put an investor in that potentially dangerous situation. That would be unfair to them as well as me becasue I would not want this done to me. I strongly feel this rule would hinder my direct selling business and cause a potenial loss of income which would in turn hinder my families well being. For my families sake I humble ask that this rule not be put into affect.
