F.T.C. Information Folks: IN REFERENCE TO CFR citation 16CFR part 437 I have been involved with several direct sales organizatios & find that XANGO is maybe the best of the bunch. I have found that this is the most advantagous form of maketing to most all customers. My wife & I are building this business for 2 reasons being the advantage of our friends and customers, and as a supliment to our social security income, since it is not enough to live on. We have been independent business people for many years and don't have retirement plans and pensions available. We got in the business on a referal from a friend and have enjoyed the association with others. I feel much more at ease with groups than ever before and I like that feeling a lot. I can understand your concern, as there are some illegitament MLM's out there, but I think this rule puts the good MLM's in the same catagory as the bad ones & that's just not fair. Due to the fact that we travel & due informational meetings, the 7 day waiting period would make this business really tough and would imply that this company is quite questioable & thats just not true. Due to the type of business XANGO offers, no inventory & an only $35.00 menbership that is simular to SAM'S club & COSTCO, I feel the $500.00 threshold would not be fair. This forces our type of business in the same catagory as those requiring a larger investment than just a direct selling kit for a home based business.I also feel that your idea of litagation reporting may be quite misleading. We all know there are folks and lawers out there that do nothing more than try to get some easy undeserved money and this would not seperate those from legit claims. As far as references, we are happy to have folks that are at our meetings tell their feelings about the company and the product, but it would real tough to get references in all areas, as we have members located all over the U.S.A., & hopefully in other countries soon, and not all folks like to tell thier story to all others. I think this would make it very difficult to build a business and would invade others privacy. Also I don't like the Idea of giving out any more information to just anyone due to the identy theft problem we have in our great country. As far as earnings claims, I feel that legit folks will tell the truth, but illegit companys and folks will not tell the truth and that again is just not fair to the "GOOD GUYS" like us. In general I think the FTC needs to go after those business's that are just not so good, but I don't think your rules that you are proposing just are not fair to those of us that are doing business in a very fair & legit way. I like this type of business for three reasons, being the fact that I can help others with some relief of ailments and in a finacial way and the third reason is I can help my wife and my finacial situation now and since I have a not so good heart situation, when I am no longer here, she will have an income to live on Thank you: Vern & Lois Bolkema
