I strongly feel that this new measure, if enacted, would seriously jeopardize direct sales businesses, of which the majority of owners are women, by decreasing the number of women being offered this wonderful income opportunity. Our company guidelines already state that a new business owner can cancel their involvement with this business at any time, without costing them money, and PartyLite strongly suggests that individuals, interested in trying our business out, come to a training to meet other CNS and attend a couple of show observations to see if this business would be right for them. I truly believe that self-regulation, by the direct sales industry themselves, will work, if each organization monitors their own business ethics of their independent consultants. It has worked well with PartyLite so far.
