Hello, My name is Shirley Arnett and I am an Independent Jewelry Consultant for Cookie Lee Jewelry. I feel a need to suggest that the Proposed Business Opportunity Rule would greatly affect my business and many other consultants across America. I take great pride being a consultant for Cookie Lee and it provides me with a career that I can always put my family first. I have flexible hours, enjoy providing outstanding customer service to my guest at our home shows and love to share the business with women that want to be home with their children and have a career at the same time. The Proposed Business Opportunity Rule would make it very difficult for women to have a fun, easy business and many would have to go to an office job and put their children in daycare. Cookie Lee is a very ethical company and we always embrace our Mission, Vision and Values. We have our own policies and procedures to keep our company on the top when it comes to integrity and fraud would not be tolerated. We are a member of the DSA and have guidlines that we are required to go by and I believe they are in the best interest of our customers and potential consultants. Please reconsider this proposal. I love my business with Cookie Lee and have been able to give so much back to so many women, organizations and my community. I love having a career that I can call my own and at the same time never miss anything with my children, from baseball games, volunteering in the classrooms, PTA participation and coaching women to do the same. I think it makes such a difference to be with your children as much as possible in todays world because it is a relationship that a daycare provider or after school program cannot replace. I also think it helps our communities with children having more structure, values and self esteem. The Proposed Business Opportunity would make it very difficult to give women hope to have a career and have their family as their top priority. Please reconsider this for myself and all of the women across America that is instilling the value of family, relationships and what we can do for others. Thank you for your consideration.
