Comments:

In regards to the proposed rulings on Business Opportunities, let me just say that we in the industry appreciate the concerns of fraudulent activities that occur in ours, and all other, industries. However, the proposed rulings carry an unwanted and unneeded side-effect. They will make it practically impossible to build a business for anyone. I am relatively new to this business, yet understand how people think and what motivates them, and the proposed rulings will only stop the majority of potential new distributors from even thinking about improving their lives. We are a society that has lost the ability to 'dream'. Along with that, we see little in the way of how to reach our dreams. This industry was founded on principles that are truly of what America stands for: freedom, opportunity, hard work, and helping others improve their lives. Unfortunately, people are afraid; afraid of everything, even their own abilities. This industry has created some tremendous leaders, and is creating one in me, as I learn and grow and challenge myself to be better. When we help others, we help ourselves; spiritually, socially, and economically. We become better mothers and fathers, better people as a whole; better Americans. These rulings will hurt , not just myself and my fellow 'dreamers', but will put the brakes on an industry that is growing stronger and more mainstream. My dreams will be shattered, my potential will never be met, and the hundreds and thousands of others, just like me, will meet the same end. We ask that you do not shut another door on us. We average Americans, that have so much potential, are finding it almost impossible to find an unlocked door to opportunity. Please, reconsider. This will only hurt the industry. The crooks will survive, no matter what. With deepest sincerity and respect, Mark Howen
