I am an independant business owner affiliated with Quixtar.com. The people who shared this business opportunity with me have always impressed me as being very ehtical and professional during my evaluation and registration information that was presented to me. In fact, their integrity was one of the reasons that I was attracted to them as well as maintaining my involvment in this type of business. Concerning the proposed rules for regulating this type of business I feel that a 7 day waiting period would be overly excessive. This feeling is based on the fact that a typical registration fee for this buisiness is approximately $125.00 of which we feel obligated to refund to our prospects who feel that they do not benefit from the advantages afforded to them by their participation. This policy that we have adopted is the one that we were taught to employ by our sponsors who as stated above are very ethical. Regarding any need to provide references, we feel that releasing personal contact information about other independent business owners would be a violation of one's privacy. It would make no sense in any other business of a prospective customer, say would go into a dry cleaner and the dry cleaner before he accepted the person's laundry would be forced to hand him a sheet of all the other dry cleaner's in the prospectice customer's geographical area! Concerning providing a letigation list, the challenge here would be how a list of complaints could be misintererpted as legal judgements. The broad-based list as proposed appears to have little merit. In essence, if someone was actually found to be convicted of an offense, it is highly unlikely that this person would still be in business and visible with any good standing within the business owner's trade association gatherings. Lastly, regarding financial substantiation, again as a business owner I feel if I was forced to show a pospect my financial records this would be an invasion of my privacy. What our business has in place is financial potential and the percentage of all who are involved as business owners who have reached this potential. We feel that these types of information are fair disclosures to our business prospects. As stated above this type of information and the ethics of sharing it with all prospects is what we learned from when we were prospects through the people who have trained us in honest and legal business practices. Thank You for your involvment and your consideration to our somment.prior to issuance of a rule. Our family has benefited throught the association of independent business owners at all levels within this business.
