I would not appreciate someone else's customer or potential recruit calling me about another demonstrator. I feel if this informmation is needed then a site could be started and remarks posted if there were problems with demonstrators. It should be the responsibility of the purchaser to decide if they want to do business with a party. Other businesses don't do this, why should direct sellers. This legislation is punishing folks that are honest...you need to take care of offenders. Our customers are grown up and responsible citizens. If they didn't trust us they would not have us in their homes. If we don't treat someone right you can rest assure one bad word put out there will put us out of business. This is also a violation of MY privacy to have anyone give out my information that I do not give that permission to. We are a group of hard working demonstrators and if a few are not honest, I guess that is nothing new in ANY business. It is unfair to make laws that hurt so many and are made for a handful of offenders. When you look at the number of direct sellers out there vs the bad ones the odds are most of us are honest. It is time that customers grow up and take SOME responsibility for themselves...If something is too good to be true then it probably is. Don't you think that a website say sponsored by the Direct Selling Association posting complaints, makes much more sense. We need to grow up as a society and stop letting legislators and commisions take care of things we should be taking care of ourselves. At the most, I could see including a statement with a web site or mailing address to receive more information on a Direct Seller.
