To Whom It May Concern, I have been in this industry for 2 1/2 years. I have been an business owner of a massage practice for 21 years and increased my avenues of income as I integrated health and wellness products as part of my practice. The direct selling business model has allowed me to leverage my income and build for a more secure future. Having products that are consumable adds to my bottom line and contributes significantly to our family's income. I have developed in leadership skills and also serve my community as I involve myself in community activites that help to make people's live better. I am opposed to a 7 day waiting period that makes what we do seem shady and negative! It would be like telling a car dealer they couldn't sell the vehicle a person test drives and the customer has to wait before they could take it home. That is an insult to our economic system of free enterprise. This will be a hinderence because of additional record keeping issues and cause unnecessary delays as it will affect one's ability to build their business. Most people are unable to afford to open bricks and morter businesses and purchasing francises are generally cost prohibitive. The litigation reporting does not distinguish between winning and losing lawsuits. It is impractical to find 10 nearest distributors. There are privacy and safety issues due to identity theft due to the disclosure of personal information. It is governmental interference and unnecessary. I apprectiate the FTC's goals and understand that there are fraudulent groups out there but the FTC's proposed rule would unfairly target legitimate direct selling businesses! Please consider the free enterprise system here and remove this type of legislation. Vote against the passing of this anti-free enterprise legislation. Thankyou for your immediate attention, Patti A.
