Re: My personal distributorship: I have been a business owner for 38 years and have enjoyed the extra retail profit and residual income generated as well as awards for acheivments. I have been blessed with personal growth and integrety passed on by corporate and IBO leadership. I am blessed to have an on going residual income to enhance my widows pension which is insufficient for the basic cost of living. I appreciate being able to continue to grow as an individual as I continue to work my business in what some call retirement years. This is what I tell others as to what is possible. Extra income for whatever their reason, is available through being an IBO, or simply saving money on their personal needs. The cost for being an IBO is as little as $55.00 or can be less then $500.00 based on how and what they want to accomplish, and what training tools and demo. products they may want to acquire. People are intelligent and able to make good choices. To tell them to wait seven days because someone has determined that they are not capable of making their own decision would be rediculous, and a huge waste of time and energy. I believe it would create doubt, fear and procrastionation, of which there is already too much. . That being said, you have got to know that those who cannot make a decision to immediately launch their business, for whatever reason, often take weeks, months and sometime years to decide, and some just don't ever start. The opportunity is there, and flows in either direction. It is not a good idea to to use references of other IBO name or income, including mine. This is private and protected info.and as Independent Business Owners, what legal right does anyone in any profession have to devulge someones income, we do not have a board of directors needing this personal info. Further, what I or anyone earns has got nothing to do with what a new person can or is willing to earn.Their own time, desire, goals and purpose is what drives individuals to succeed or not to aspire to any extra income. I think prospects would raise an eyebrow and question me and other IBOs quoting personal info. that is no ones business. Quality thinkers would come to know that altimately their personal info. would also be divulged. Enuff already! All prospects have access to other IBOs as they choose through various meetings and seminars. the majority are not so rude as to pry into personal info., rather they see the integrety or lack of it in the people they meet. This whole detail proposal by the FTC is meaningless, and a waste of time. Such restrictng rules and regulations would not positively affect IBOs or prospects in any way. It simply strangles FREE ENTERPRISE and the right of individuals to make choices for themselves. Marilyn R Shive, Indepentdent Business Owner
