Hello! My name is Rachel Woltjer, and I've been an IBO with Quixtar for over two years now. Unlike many of the professionals you've heard from, my background is as a waitress. Needless to say, my home-based business *is my future* and I am incredibly thankful for it. As a waitress I could continue to get by, but I would never be able to make the significant contribution with my life that I wanted--no time or money to impact individuals and countries. For the last year and a half I have been out actively growing my business in the hours that I would've been spending time at home with my husband. That's not a sacrifice I make lightly; rather, I know that I'm on track for the five year plan that I was presented with, which will soon let me retire my apron and all those heavy trays. Instead of being strapped for cash and tired from work I'll be free to funnel those hours and dollars into places that will make an impact. I'll be one more example of the American Dream come true, and hopefully an inspiration to my team, family, friends, and regulars at Perkins to *go for it* instead of just settling for it. You've probably read tons of these testimonies by now, but I share mine anyway to show how crucial my business is to my future. I don't have the education to be a professional, nor the means to buy a Subway franchise....Quixtar is it. My sponsors were too new to explain the opportunity well, so they got me in front of their mentor who provided us with a *ton* of information. We read two books, listened to a stack of cd's, reviewed the sa-4400 form, and decided to get started, all by the time he came back for our follow-up 2 days later, when I registered. He then encouraged us to come out and meet the team that week. It was seeing their behavior in person which solidified my decision. I use that experience as the model for building my business, which relates to the proposed regulations. Because I view this as a long-term enterprise, it profits me absolutely *nothing* to arm-bar someone onto my team by giving them improper info, suggesting they'll get-rich-quick. They would discover differently within 6 months, get their $52 dollars back, and be gone. I explain that the opportunity is like Gold's Gym---you get out what you put into it. No one can expect 15# to fall off just for buying the membership! But to use that same analogy for the proposed requirements you're evaluating, what would happen if a Gold's Gym or Curves for Women had to impose a seven-day waiting period? After the initial tour, how many folks would retain that excitement through all the craziness of a hectic week, enough to rearrange their busy schedules and start working out? Momentum without action is lost. And what if they had to spend that week reading all the lawsuits against the entire franchise? Some folks got hurt by not following the instructions on the weight machines, others are just greedy, and some are legitimate, but due to a careless employee five states away! All the prospect really sees is a stack of legal action. Also, just because Suzie Q only lost 5# (maybe that was the extent of her goal, or what her schedule allowed), should her reference/testimony be a valid indicator of what John Doe could accomplish at that same gym? I truly do appreciate the fact that you're taking necessary steps to protect prospects from fradulant and unproven opportunities. Many times a prospect tells me s/he has never heard of Quixtar but is already skeptical due to a bad experience with a company in the past that isn't even around anymore. Your efforts will make a significant dent in such fraud, which only enhances what I have to offer. I simply ask that you respect the recommendations of the IBOAI board, as their experience far outweighs mine, and I completely trust their wisdom in finding a fair balance. Thank you for both your work on this project and your time in considering my viewpoint! Sincerely, Rachel Woltjer
