I urge you to vote against the proposed Business Opportunity Rule, Matter #R511993 for many reasons. I own and do business as a commercial print shop, a retail store, and direct sales. My business organization, while complex and multi-faceted, is located in a small rural town, and therefore none of the enterprises is large or high volume. As I understand it, the proposed legislation would create a burden that would negatively impact at least two of the divisions, and possibly all three of them, and likely make the difference between their existence, and their demise. I have never had problems with any of the issues that this law addresses, as I suspect most small businesses have not. However, the burden would impact these same small businesses the most, and likely cause the demise of many. Small businesses live and die by reputation and integrity. If anything, we concede more than we should, just to "keep the peace" and create happy, if sometimes unreasonable customers. Again, I urge you to vote against the Business Opportunity Rule, Matter #R511993.
