As a direct sales professional for 20 years, I am writing because I am concerned about the Business Opportunity Rule R511993. I believe as currently proposed, much harm could come to my business and those of my peers. I appreciate that your ultimate goal is to protect the general public from deceptive business practices, however, some of the sections in this proposal will make it very hard for me to sell Tastefully Simple products and help other start Tastefully Simple businesses of their own. The greatest joy I've received as the head of a $5.4 million dollar organization has been the personal and professional growth of my team members in this business. Everyone who joins our company has the "free will" to come and go as they wish. Being members of the Direct Selling Association my company and other members, already have "safeguards" in place for the general public. The DSA is the "Better Business Bureau" of our field and makes sure that those that begin with us, have the ablitity to "opt out" if they desire. I have a wonderful life because I've had the ability to work with true professionals in our industry. This proposal seems to address people that are not even associated with our specific type of business. (direct sales) Thank you for your time and consideration.
