I have been working with TEAMBUILDERS as an IBO with Quixtar now since April 2005. I did not have great hope that this would work, but I trusted my friend Rich Brinkerhoff. Wow, he was right. I was already doing what this business offered. I was already doing this business, but didn't realize I could get paid for what I was already doing. So I now purchase just about everything I use through a purchase consolidation website, and I get paid on the volume of products (everything you buy) that flow through my business. So I look for customers to shop at my web portal as well. Kind of like Walmart looks for customers to shop at their stores. Now, however, instead of the advertising dollars going to Sam Walton (dead), it goes to me. I love the fact that we build in teams and that I can't make any money until I help someone else make a lot more money. This experience has been great! My family has grown from the self improvement system that is availiable (optional) to all IBO's. My Quixtar business fit right into our lifestyle. In fact, it saves us time. We set up a ditto for each month and our products show up on our door step each month. I no longer have to go to the store. I shop inline. My wife loves it! I love the fact that my business is not just about making money. I was told it would be HARD work with little pay to begin with, but to hang in there, the benifits would come. How right they were! My family is tighter now due to the System training and self development we recieve through the leadership of our business. When I registered, I was advised to sleep on it. But I couldn't. I was broke and this looked like the best hard way to achieve lasting results. I could see all the information was availaible, but I was amazed by the team of people who where already doing it. They really do have a vested interrest in me succeeding. I love that. I remember as I was signing up on the Quixtar site, it told me that there was no guarantee of succes and that the avarage IBO only made about $115 per month. Well, that was an understatement! I would hate to see the month I only made $115. That would mean I didn't put in the effort. No guanrantee of success? That's right, I have NONE watching TV. But, I found if I worked hard, I could succeed. I remember it cost me about $125 to sign up. That included a $55 optional product kit. Now, the other think I like about Quixtar is that EVERYTHING is 100% refundable. I have returned products that were 3 months old with no problem. So, (1) Eliminate the waiting period, at least for opportunities like Quixtar where a prospect can get his money back if not satisfied. (2) Eliminate the requirement to provide 10 references. (3) Eliminate the requirement to disclose past litigation. (4) If disclosures are needed, require a simple, standard, easily understood disclosure such as "average monthly gross income for 'active' IBOs." Quixtar is already doing that! As for the Requirement for Earnings Disclosures, that is private information. I don't think you can do that. How would a new IBO be able to do that? Who would sign with someone who has worked hard, but hasn't yet made a substancial amount of money? That would make things very difficult. Quixtar already provides prospective IBOs with extensive information before they register. I agree that uniform, industry-wide disclosure requirements would also help shut down bogus business opportunities that may try to mimic legitimate direct selling opportunities. That would be great! Quixtar is already doing that! (5) IBOs should possess substantiation for any claim but should not be required to disclose it except when required by the FTC and similar state agencies in an agency investigation. The proposal doesn't really say what a "Seller" is. How would I know ALL the litigation against Quixtar and it's members? Thanks, Ron Mihu
