Thank you for this opportunity for us to comment on these proposed FTC standards. I have been an ibo for approximately 7 years and it has made such a great difference in my life. I am working solely in the business with no other source of income and it is fantastic. It has afforded my the opportunity of adopting a child from china, which I couldn't do if I was working full time in the corporate world, and also given me the time to work on my own music as I am a songwriter. The changes in my and my life are beyond words. Of course my platinum income is fantastic but really the association of upstanding, honest, hardworking, family oriented people is beyond compare. My next goal is to reach the emerald level by 12/31/2006 before my adopted baby arrives from China. To address some specific areas, I wanted to explain that, when I joined the business, I was given an SA 4400 and it had been gone through and also given to me to take home to study as well... there were no surprises. In turn, We (myself and my organization) still do that. We give them a business overview that explains "active ibo" and the amount they make and also the bonus structure etc.... They also have to indicate acceptance of the WSA4400 when they are registering as an ibo so they see it again then. It is often asked of me, because I am single and make good moeny in the business, if it's "hard"... and I say... yes! Anything worthwhile is hard... but definitely possible and the fact that it is hard work makes it "real" because get rich quick schemes aren't real and we are a real business. In response to the 7 day wait period...I can understand why this item would be "considered" but frankly, I feel it is unnecessary as I always go over the sa4400 info a few times anyway before someone becomes an ibo on my team. Also, often an ibo is just visiting our town (seattle) for a few days and it would be sad if they had to go home across country and wait to become an ibo over the phone instead of being sponsored in person. It's possible but not really efficient or helpful. Also, often new ibos have new people ready to sign up with them on their team and if they also had to wait another 7 days it would only hamper and hinder the new ibo from making money quickly. We want to make sure the new ibo has as much opportunity as possible to sponsor people right away so he can start running volume immediately and , thus , make money his first month in the business. As far as providing a list of local ibos as back up to prove legitimacy, well , I certainly wouldn't mind talking to someone, but I know everyone has a different "style" to their team of ibos and I wouldn't want to mess that up my introducing my style. Also, frankly, I'd be worried about being inundated with phone calls. I build the business single and am very busy training and building my own co. and don't have time to counsel or mentor ibos in other organizations. The ibos on my team always meet the ibos and mentors of my team anyway before they register to they see who they would be working with and to get a feel for all of us as a team. We strongly encourage meeting the team first. The team is a great selling point....why would anyone want to keep them from it? Though, not all teams have the same spirit and I want to protect the integrity of my team and I'm sure others do too. Thanks for accepting this feedback. We are exciting for all of the new exciting things coming up and look forward to working with you as the future is created!! ibo Denise Horlander
