What we hope the FTC is going for- a level playing field -- should be just that. But , save investing, tipping the scales away from business ownership leaves jobs as the remaining method of earning income. To be fair then, make the proposal be universally applied; i.e: to all businesses ranging from roller skating rinks and coin operated laundries, to Gen. Motors, Microsoft, and Walmart. After all, being an employee is designed to create income, too and employees need to be protected from chicainery and unscroupulous practices as well ( planned layoffs, eroding pensions, etc...) Might it be, the FTC already has enough standing laws that, their being enforced, the points of this current proposal are already covered? More regulations serve only to cripple honest business. Morality cannot be legislated.
