I am writing in regards to the Notice of Proposed Rulemaking regarding business opportunities. If adopted this rule would have a direct effect on my livelihood, family and the means to give back to my community. The propsed requirements of this new rule are ridiculous and are just adding to more red tape to an already muddy system we adhere to today. I find it amazing that the most influential document that our government has ever written, the Declaration of Independence, has approximately 1,300 words. But now, in our present day we have millions and millions of rules and regulations, made up of billions and billions of words that we are charged to follow. Let America keep its entrepreneurial spirit and don’t allow this ruling to pass. It would only serve to tie the hands of Americans wanting a better tomorrow for them and their families by doing what has made this country great from day one — taking full advantage of capitalism. How is capitalism defined? It is an economic system in which the means of production and distribution are privately or corporately owned and development is proportionate to the accumulation and reinvestment of profits gained in a free market. I encourage you to keep it a FREE MARKET and don’t throw more piles of red tape restrictions and requirements. The direct selling industry is a strong part of our nation’s economy - please don’t start doing things to mess that up!
